Over the past six weeks, CIDLaw interns have been deeply engaged in an intensive research programme on reparations for historic injustices in Africa, under the expert mentorship of Dr. Caroline Buisman. This unique initiative, enriched by the collaboration of colleagues from the United Nations and CIDLaw’s dedicated staff, has seamlessly blended academic learning with practical legal advocacy.
The internship has not only sharpened research and advocacy skills but has also broadened perspectives on justice, accountability, and human rights. For our interns, it has been a transformative journey—one that strengthens their resolve to contribute to the evolving legal landscape of Africa and beyond.

Looking ahead, the programme continues with an exciting line-up of activities:
- 2 October – Moot Court Competition
- 3 October – Visit to the United Nations Offices
- 22 October – Africa Bar Association Conference (Ghana)
At CIDLaw, we take immense pride in our interns. Their commitment, passion, and drive give us confidence that they will play a pivotal role in shaping a more just future.
🚀 The journey continues!
